Tribosonics opens new dedicated workshop as it outgrows current premises

Tribosonics, the hard-tech scale up business specialising in sensing technologies for industrial sectors, has officially opened a brand new, custom designed workshop to deliver new contracts.

The new 1500 sq ft workshop, situated just a few minutes walk from their Sheffield based HQ, is a natural progression for the business as it continues to attract new customers and develop further applications for its cutting-edge technology.

Head of Engineering for Tribosonics, Dr. Matthew Harmon said ‘We were fast outgrowing our old workshop, which was making it difficult to house the equipment needed to manage new projects as the business continues to grow.

‘Our new workshop is a fantastic addition and will allow us to not only expand our rapid prototyping capabilities, but the increased laboratory space also means we now have 4 additional, dedicated test cells for our customer projects. Furthermore, it boasts the additional benefits of 3 phase power, improved lighting and better access for our industrial equipment, all of which will allow us to work more efficiently and better serve our customers from around the world.’

The workshop was officially opened on the 5th April by Will Schaffer, Investment Director at Mercia Asset Management; the company that has invested over £2.5 million in Tribosonics. Will said ‘It is great to see Tribosonics reach yet another fantastic milestone as they continue to go from strength to strength. Their technology is achieving great things across several sectors and I’ve no doubt that they’ll be expanding into new premises again in the not too distant future as they continue to demonstrate the value their technology can add.’

Tribosonics develop smart sensing solutions that can monitor and measure asset performance in key industries such as polymers and plastics, nuclear, renewable energy, automotive and marine. Their technology allows customers to reduce waste, improve efficiency and drive sustainability.
