Long-standing Tribosonics Engineer is awarded Chartership by the Institute of Engineering and Technology

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status demonstrates professionalism and an advanced level of knowledge, understanding and skills.  Obtaining the CEng credentials is the culmination of years of experience and a rigorous application and assessment process.

Joel Assamoi is our Solutions Gatekeeper in charge of the company’s product development process. In previous roles, Joel has served as a Senior Electronics & Product Engineer as well as Head of Production. Therefore, Joel has experience in all of Tribosonics’ hardware developments.

About Joel

Firstly, Joel is a University of Sheffield 2010 graduate having studied MEng Electronics and Communications Engineering. Then, he found out about Tribosonics through the University advertising for a three-month internship in 2010 for which he won South Yorkshire Graduate Intern of the Year 2011. As a result, this blossomed into an offer of a full-time graduate role and Joel has stayed ever since!

Then, Joel started as a Hardware Engineer overseeing the integration of electronics and technology through testing, design, and validation.

“At first, I didn’t know too much about Tribology when I started at Tribosonics 10 years ago and it is an absolutely fascinating area of science! I remember interviewing with Phil Harper, it was a very chatty interview and his passion for the technology was infectious. To have been awarded Chartership this year is a a huge milestone I have wanted to reach for a long time. It has been an incredible journey so far and I cannot wait for what the future holds!”

Dr Phil Harper has worked with Joel for 10 years and has overseen his growth from graduate to Senior Engineer.
