New senior appointments fast-track growth at Tribosonics

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Glenn Fletcher as CEO and Christina King as Head of Strategic Partnerships at Tribosonics.

Glenn‘s appointment follows 18 months as a non-executive director at the company. With a background in commercialising IP, Glenn has co-founded and scaled-up several businesses in the chemicals, manufacturing and engineering sectors.

As CEO, Glenn will be responsible for driving Tribosonics’ growth from Sheffield start-up to global scale-up as we shift from our beginnings as an R&D consultancy to a data-driven engineering business for the industrial sector.

I’ve joined the team at a time when hardware, product and component-based firms are struggling to implement digital transformation projects that can stave-off the threat of more agile challengers.

Tribosonics is already at the forefront of industrial innovation, the Internet of Things, and Industry 4.0. So we have an intimate understanding of the evolving landscape.

Our mission is to demonstrate how our IP operates within our customers’ applications. Then we can collectively deliver a sustained innovation and revenue pipeline.”

Accelerating growth with Christina King

Christina King joins Tribosonics from her previous role as Business Development Manager at Sheffield Hallam University. During her 11 years at Sheffield Hallam, Christina achieved multi-million funding for the university as part of the Olympic Legacy project, and collaborated with North One TV to develop a motorless ‘gravity racer’ that would go on to beat the world speed record.

As Head of Strategic Partnerships, Christina will develop our collaboration-led approach, establishing relationships and engaging with businesses to kick-start digitalisation.

Furthermore, the appointments come as part of a programme of wider internal transformation at the business. Founder Dr Phil Harper moves to the role of CTO to focus on technology, innovation and IP; while existing COO Mark Wallace brings his expertise in project engineering and management to the board.

Strategic partnerships are key to fuelling end-to-end business transformation. By pairing our sensing technology and data expertise with customers’ product know-how, we can unlock long-term reductions in operating costs.”

Dr. Phil Harper

Glenn and Christina bring invaluable perspectives to the business as we target an ambitious growth trajectory. I’m confident that Glenn’s proven track record of commercialising innovative technologies and Christina’s specialist sector knowledge will generate new value streams for both Tribosonics and our partners.

As part of its commitment to growth, Tribosonics has also joined PwC’s Scale Yorkshire programme to accelerate its scale-up strategy. This tailored programme suits fast-growth tech firms – providing curated events, masterclasses and business coaching.
