Celebrating our Future Leaders: One Year On

You may remember our previous blog from July 2020 where we celebrated the successes of our Future Leaders, from their two appearances on TV to adapting to COVID restrictions.

Here in July 2021, we are reminded of the talent, dedication and resilience of team members on the Future Leaders Apprenticeship scheme. Also, the amazing contribution they have made to the business in the past year and the progress in their own personal and professional development.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we can announce two new additions to our Future Leaders Apprenticeship Scheme. Tom Sowter and Jack Yates have recently joined us and they are already making a big impression.

Introducing Tom Sowter

Tom Sowter is one of our new Project Engineering Apprentices. He has a Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacture and Engineering, Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Engineering, completed a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacture and Engineering and currently closing off a Level 3 NVQ. In September, he will start a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Engineering. Tom is a talented and passionate individual with strong experience as a Quality Technician.

In addition, his general interests are all things football, cars and motorsport. He owns a 1992 Mini Cooper which he enjoys driving and keeps as a running project.

So what has Tom learned about Tribosonics in his first two weeks?

Introducing Jack Yates

Jack Yates, also a Project Engineering Apprentice, has completed his Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Engineering at UTC Sheffield. Jack will join Tom at the AMRC in September for the next four years to earn his BEng in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, he loves motorbikes and cars, like old Mustangs and Toyota Supras. He plans to acquire a Japanese import as a project car, maybe a Nissan Silvia or similar.

Let’s hear from Jack

Overall, Jack and Tom are impressive individuals and we are excited to see what they achieve at Tribosonics. Follow more of our news on LinkedIn and Twitter.

More amazing news…

We can’t leave this blog without mentioning another amazing recent achievement by one of our Future Leaders; Ben Wright came out on top in a high-quality field and won Apprentice of the Year at last week’s Made in Sheffield Awards.
