Christina King on the power of partnerships

From building a world record-breaking gravity racer to securing the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics, Christina King has been behind some of the most innovative projects and partnerships in the UK. Christina has a proven track record of bridging the gap between engineering, science, and commercial business. She brings a wealth of specialist sector knowledge to Tribosonics as the business looks to put partnerships first.

In addition, our new Head of Strategic Partnerships sets out Tribosonics’ shift from short-term projects to long-term partnerships. She explains the importance of collaboration in fuelling complete digital transformation for businesses.

Establishing, building and nurturing relationships is key to the success of any business. At Tribosonics, we’re lucky enough to have great relationships with leading international players across industrial sectors.”

Delivering Change

Previously, our focus has been delivering single solution projects to solve some of our customers’ greatest tribological challenges. However, our ambitious scale-up strategy puts partnerships and value creation at the forefront of driving transformation.

For Tribosonics, this ethos is behind the move away from the linear supply chain mentality to developing bespoke technology in partnership. Particularly in the sectors with the greatest potential for digital transformation – energy, manufacturing, and transport.

In these sectors, the changing industrial landscape sees early adopters of Industry 4.0 and IIoT-powered technologies reap the rewards, while those that fail to adapt and adopt are left behind. Therefore, this puts businesses under real pressure to ‘digitalise’ for fear of missing out on the significant commercial benefits.

But change should never be a knee-jerk reaction. There’s more to Industry 4.0 than purchasing bolt-on software that ticks the ‘digital’ box. Businesses must embrace a whole new way of thinking from the top down; and we have seen the pace of change accelerate when businesses adopt an “outside, in” approach.

Our partnership-led approach sees us working closely with customers to speed up end-to-end digital transformation. Working together and engaging with every aspect of their process to embed a fresh mindset at the core of the business.

To effectively kick-start digitalisation – collaboration is king.

The starting point for change is having an open discussion with partners. That means understanding their strategic direction, establishing what their vision for the future looks like and how we can help to get them there. We can then identify the value creation opportunities that support scalable, sustainable growth in partnership.

By challenging the norm, doing things differently and combining our expertise, we can accelerate innovation and more effectively generate new, long-term value streams for our partners. To support this, Tribosonics has built and continues to develop an ecosystem of expert partners. These partners come from various specialisms to ensure our customers derive maximum benefit from our offering. Discover the Tribosonics Ecosystem here.
