Celebrating International Women’s Day at Tribosonics

Celebrating International Women’s Day at Tribosonics

We spoke to the inspirational women here at Tribosonics about what International Women’s Day means to them.

Today marks International Women’s Day 2021 and it is a worldwide event focusing on and promoting the achievements of all women. At Tribosonics, we have a great team of women who have raised the bar and #ChooseToChallenge economic, cultural, and political barriers.

Today we are celebrating the hard work and significant strides of Christina King CCO, Janet Pryke CFO and Sarah Sandle, Non-executive Chairperson.

Firstly, Christina is very active in the female tech community and is speaking on a panel for the Women In Tech for International Women’s Day hosted by Leeds University Business School. Previously, she won the #TechWomen100 award from WeAreTechWomen which spotlights her research and business acumen. In addition, she won the Innovate UK’s Women In Innovation award 2020/1!

Secondly, Janet Pryke is a commercially focused CFO with extensive experience working in high-growth environments.  Plus she has over 30 years working in senior finance roles across a variety of sectors. In the past year, she has completed three acquisitions and arranged growth funding in several organisations.

Finally, Sarah Sandle has extensive strategy, business transformation, operations and programme management experience. In addition, she is a respected and resourceful professional with a passion for translating strategy into agile yet structured execution. Sarah’s biggest achievements of the past year have been continuing to adapt to the changing circumstances and remaining positive, giving unwavering support to colleagues, family, and friends along the way.

In addition, we recently interviewed Christina, Janet, and Sarah and asked them about IWD and what it means to them:

Why is international women’s day important to you?

I am inspired by the achievements of these amazing women. IWD is more than a day of celebration, it is an opportunity to lessen the inequality gap.

Christina King

IWD inspires me to continue breaking down barriers and uplift other women, especially in the STEM field. Tribosonics appreciates the diversity of a mixed board and we’ve had an amazing year with myself and two other women joining the board.

Janet Pryke

International Women’s Day is a superb opportunity to reflect on the empowerment of women in all walks of life and to celebrate and recognise the amazing contributions that women make.

Sarah Sandle

What advice would you give to a young woman starting in your industry?

Find your champions in work and life they will help you reach places you never thought possible. Be confident – it’s like a superpower!

Christina King

There are so many successful women at all levels of business so opportunities are endless. Find good mentors who can help, guide, and advise you along your career path. Think about your aspirations and define a clear path to achieve them. Your path may change along the way but having a clear direction will help ensure the path is successful.

Janet Pryke

My advice for any young woman is to believe in yourself and follow your own path. Seek support from those you respect and value, and don’t worry about the rest.

Sarah Sandle
