Where there is a requirement for a specific job or a feasibility study we can offer a comprehensive consultancy service either on-site or in our research lab. •   Research Equipment. Tribosonics Ltd has developed a high end Film Thickness Measurement system (the FMS-100) for use in research labs. The FMS-100 is a high spec, high speed multichannel instrument suited to measuring film thicknesses in journal bearings, thrust bearings, mechanical seals and artificial joints. Tribosonics Ltd is committed to developing low cost condition monitoring products for a range of applications where there are thin films or displacements that need to be monitored. Case Studies A company needed to investigate the operation of a large pump and the lubrication system supplying the bearings on the impellor shaft and valves. Tribosonics ltd discussed the requirements for testing with the customer and drew up a recomended testing framework involving calculation of the required lubrication to each of the bearings, measurement of the clearance in the bearings using ultrasound and shims, and visual inspection of the pump and bearings using video and borescope imaging.
